Chambers and Partners may have only launched its UK 2024 coverage on the 19th October, though firms will have little time to bathe and reflect on their recognition, as the deadline for the 2025 guide is less than 7 weeks away, falling on December 6th.
While there are no wholesale changes in terms of new/revised practice areas, Chambers has announced the following minor alterations:
Regional Changes
London
- A new High Court Litigation table
North East and Yorkshire/ The South
- Firms are only asked for one submission for Professional Negligence, as opposed to splitting their work between separate Claimant and Defendant submissions.
East/West Midlands
- There will be separate tables for Employment for both the East and West Midlands, as opposed to a single Midlands-wide table. Firms can submit for one or both of these tables.
UK-wide Changes
Capital Markets
- There are now separate sections for both Structured Products and Derivatives
Banking and Finance
- A sub-section, labelled Fund Finance, has been added
Competition
- Chambers has added a Competition Litigation table, meaning the previous Competition section will now focus on non-contentious work
Environment
- As detailed in their launch video, Chambers no longer sees Climate Change work as distinct from Environment work, meaning that there will now be a merged table, Environment & Climate Change
Financial Crime: Corporates
- This section has been renamed to Corporate Crime & Investigations
Investment Funds
- In addition to its usual sections, Chambers is now asking for submissions for Private Equity: Secondaries and Investor Representation
Of course, with seven new sections in total, this will result in an increased workload for those charged with preparing the submissions.
